Nafferton Village Remembrance Day Commemorations

Nafferton Village Remembrance Day Commemorations

As usual we will be commemorating Remembrance Sunday in the Village , this year it will be on Sunday 10 th November.
The Exhortation and the Kohima Epitaph will take place at the War Memorial followed by a Remembrance Service in the Methodist Church.
Roads will be closed from 10.45am to 11.15am. Middle Street from the Memorial to the High Street at the Methodist Church and junctions onto them will be closed to allow a safe area to congregate for the Exhortation and a safe passage through the village to the Church afterwards.
Village groups , eg Guides , Scouts, etc who are attending , should form up no later than 10.45am at the Memorial. The public attending should be in position by 10.50am. We normally have a very good attendance, irrespective of the weather conditions.
Andrea Grace has offered once again to play the Last Post and Reveille, thank you Andrea !
We are looking for a volunteer to deliver the Exhortation. Ideally a serving serviceman or servicewoman , or a veteran.
The Army have had the honour of late so would be great to have a representative of the Royal Navy or Royal Air Force this time.

Please contact Paul Nicholson on Facebook or the Parish Clerk if you are interested in delivering either this years or future Exhortations.
